What’s the BEST way to get rid of acne on the back, neck, AND face?

EMERGENCY!! I need to find something that will help me get rid of acne. I’m a teenager, and I do have acne…on my back, neck, AND face. I’ve tried almost everything. Please! I need answers!

OK honey, first step: drink LOTS of water. I’m a teenager too, and have (well, had) your exact same problem – I had HORRIBLE acne on my back, and mild acne on my face, but not on my neck. I used to only drink about 1-2 cups of water a day, but I started drinking 8-10 cups a day in..um.. mid-March of this year, I think. The change in my skin was miraculous, my forehead (which looked quite horrible by the way) cleared up to flawless within a week. My back cleared up a bit too. I also ate LOTS of yogurt, and it also helped. I recently went to a dermatologist and she prescribed this gel called ‘Differin’ for me – if you look it up on Y!Answers, you’ll probably read numerous horror stories of horrible breakouts and red faces and whatnot, but its been a miracle cure for me. I never even got an initial breakout, and I’ve been using it since May 20 – my skin is already noticeably clearer, and my cheeks which were quite scarred have faded so much that with a bit of foundation, you can’t tell I ever had acne on my cheeks (which were in horrible condiditon in the beginning of May). For my back, she gave me this antibiotic called Doryx (sp.?) which is also already starting to show results. Go to a dermatologist, follow their instructions, eat lots of yogurt, drink lots of water, and your skin should be flawless by school in August!

Does high blood sugars cause acne?

I have type 2 diabetes and I’ve been trying to keep my blood sugars under control without using insulin. I wear makeup and I thought that the make up was causing the acne but the acne is now spreading to my back, neck,and chest and the bumps sometimes itches. What should I do? I wash my face with Neutrogena Facial Wash and even tried using black soap. I drink water also! I don’t know what else to do! I need help you guys!

I use insulin so my numbers aren’t consistantly high but before I was diagnosed they were high for a while. I never had issues with acne. I mean I had a pimple here and there but did not have major issues before I was diagnosed and was suffering from unknown diabetes. I would call your doctor or even a dermitologist (skin doctor I believe thats what their called) and find out if there are other products taht you could use. I would deffinatly talk to you doctor though. Sorry i coudlnt be of more help.
