I’ve heard some bad things about peelings, so if you do it, make sure it is wayyyy before the wedding so that you give your skin some time to recover from any redding or side effects it may leave. Most blemishes can be covered up with make-up that day.

I use St Ives apricot face scrub, which exfoliates, every 2 days (daily may be too harsh) and love how it evens out my tone. Mary Kay also sells a micro-dermabrasion kit that I hear ppl rave so much about.

Bc it is such a huge event, I would see a specialist (dermatologist) who can make the safest and best recommendations for your skin type. Congrats on your wedding, and I’m sure you’ll look beautiful!

Has anyone had laser skin resurfacing done?

For acne scarring.
It’s a bit pricey, but I want to get it done from some light scarring I have from teenage acne. What I want to know is how bad were your scars, how many treatments did you get and was it ultimately worth it?
I’m concerned I’ll be paying for something that will either make the scars worse or not do anything at all.

It’s good that your aware of the risks. I would read a lot into it and figure out if it’s worth the risks. Albative-lasers (meaning those that penetrate the epidermis) can leave hyperpigmentation, as well as fat loss, which could lead to some worse looking scars. Granted the risks probably aren’t common, I would really evaluate whether or not the surgery is a must. If I were you I would look into some permanent dermal fillers before going with laser, certain fillers can be dissolved with an injected enzyme if they come out badly. I have heard plenty of people going into laser expecting good improvement and seeing little to none.

I have been on so many products and been to many dermatologists, nothing ever seems to work. In the beginning any product works but never continues to work. I am getting frustrated with my face! I am 18 years old and going to be starting college in nyc this fall and I need to have clear skin. I drink so much water a day and I excercise daily and I have a healthy diet. I just dont know what to do anymore!
