How do I get rid of red marks left by old acne?

I have these red marks left by acne old on my face, so it looks like I have more acne than I do, not attractive. I selected some of them, but those I did not pick to ALWAYS leave red marks. They were here to stay, not even scrub to get rid of them. What can I put on them to make them disappear? Or atleast seem less red? Do I need to go to the doctor or is there any home remedies I can use?
