Is it possible to confuse a cyst for a cold sore?
I really bad acne and they are not normal pimples, they are cysts and they are under the skin. I got one near my lip, but people told me it sounds like herpes. I put toothpaste on it, and he came to une 2 head (looked like 2 buttons), and jumped and Bled. He has a scab and I think it's toothpaste that caused the skin around it to dry and Peel. It healed within four days. This was it just a cyst or was it herpes? I never got a cold sore before, I've never kissed anyone or given orally, and I try very hard to avoid eating or drinking after others.
Wait and find out. If you get another, then you know it's a cold sore. But if you've never had one before, and have not been in contact with someone who has, this is unlikely. This is not just an STD as people think. It is a virus, and I think people can get to have chicken pox, or something like that (I know it's there that has shingles, so maybe I am confused with this). I suggest you research on WebMD to verify the other symptoms and to compare it to what you had.
